GMO Global Sign, the security division of the Tokyo-based GMO Internet Group and a provider of identity services for online transactions, acquires Helsinki-based Ubisecure Solutions, a privately-held identity and access management (IAM) software developer.
The acquisition delivers technology and talent to propel Global Sign’s strategic focus on identity services for Internet of Everything (IoE) market, where the ability to make secure networked connections among people, processes, data and things, will require that every “thing” has a trusted identity.
— Ubisecure provides the essential technology and talent needed to execute on our strategy to become the identity services leader for the Internet of Everything, mediating trust to enable safe commerce, communications, content delivery and community interactions for billions of transactions, around the world, in every moment, stated Paul Tourret, Managing Director for Global Sign’s EMEA operations.
— Global Sign’s vast worldwide organization and channels will allow us to bring our IAM solutions to a global market. We share a common vision for identity services, both for today’s enterprises that need elegant IAM solutions, and for the billions of connected ‘things’ that will require identities and interactions in ways we have yet to imagine. — , stated Charles Sederholm, chief executive officer of Ubisecure.
The entire Ubisecure team is expected to join Global Sign, which intends to invest in and develop an IAM center of excellence in Helsinki.
