Beijing-originated incubator Techcode held the opening ceremony of their first Northern European location in Helsinki during Slush last year. Since then, they have kick-started their operations and also widened cooperation with Helsinki Business Hub, working together to build the startup ecosystem in Helsinki and help them to the Chinese market. Now the Techcode Finland offices are ready to take on new startups, with first teams already settled in.
Techcode provides selected promising startups with facilities, mentoring, training and funding through a network of investors. Furthermore, it helps companies get their foot in the Chinese market and establish relationships with local partners.
Michael Haralson from Techcode Finland.
“Techcode Finland is working hard to position itself in the Finnish startup ecosystem with key services especially focused on China. Partnerships are an important part of this positioning and with Helsinki Business Hub as our partner we are already seeing the results. It’s great to be working with well-networked professionals”, says Michael Haralson, Deputy General Manager of Techcode Finland.
Helsinki Business Hub and Techcode have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding last December to further enhance their cooperation. Together the two companies have established stable and continuous strategic relations on projects introduction, business and investment opportunities.
One recent example of these types of joint activities was seen at an HBH event in London last March, where Mr. Haralson shared his positive experiences of Finnish tech & business ecosystem to an audience of UK based tech companies. Also, HBH has been part of helping Finnish companies to visit Techcode Beijing in January 2017.
So if you area startup with plans to enter the Chinese market, this could be your chance to accelerate your way from Helsinki to East!
