Newsletter 02/2010

Dear Friends,TATU_newsletter
I am happy to send you regards after a very busy spring. While the economy is slowly making a recovery and the ash clouds finally seem to clear from the skies, GHP has been hard at work, building a foundation for future growth and prosperity in the capital region.

In order to support growth companies in their quest for international growth, GHP and Technopolis initiated VC Zone earlier on this year and the official launch was announced at the Technopolis Money Talks Forum in May.

Almost simultaneously, GHP had three important events in China; a Finnish business delegation, hosted by GHP, flew to Shenzen to initiate grass roots level work with the support of the Golden Bridge project, while in Shanghai we were happy to witness the fortification of the sister city agreement between the cities of Espoo and Shanghai and two successful professional events at the Finnish Pavilion: travel and city development.

And while some of us travelled east for the above events, our good colleague Indrek Tammeaid ventured west to both solidify and create new networks. He has taken a keen interest in the Finnish Neuroscience Initiative and travelled to Southern California for some meetings and events. His article about the initiative is just the tip of the iceberg.

All of this is backed up by the solid job done by GHP and its partners at Otaniemi Marketing, Vantaa Innovation Institute and Invest in Finland..

It’s been quite a spring and we’re only half way through the year. With some interesting things bubbling under the surface, keep your eye out for the next newsletters to hear more.

But before we go that far, I’d like to wish everyone a wonderful, relaxing summertime!

Sincerely,

Tatu Laurila
