Apartment blocks in Finland could use new technology to improve their energy efficiency, according to a study by the Finnish property management chain REIM Group.

Sogeti Finland aims to expand share of fast-growing market in testing services Capgemini Group, the international provider of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, has established a local IT and engineering services division in Finland. Sogeti Finland was launched on 15 February with a staff of 35 software testing experts and the company expects to hire about 100 additional testing experts over the next three years. Software testing aims to avoid or substantially reduce software bugs and so bring lower costs, higher quality and more timely delivery.  >> Read more

Good News from Finland by TAT Group

25 February 2010 | Fortum turns waste into energy in Lithuania

Fortum is building a new combined heat and power plant in Klaipeda, Lithuania. The value of the investment is approximately 140 million euros. The power plant will be completed by 2013. The new power plant will be fuelled by municipal and industrial waste and biomass. The production capacity will be approximately 50 megawatts of heat and 20 megawatts of electricity. The district heating produced will be sold to Klaipedos Energija and the electricity to the Lithuanian national grid. >> Read more

19 February 2010 | Uusimaa is the European Entrepreneurial Region 2012

The European Union Committee of the Regions has chosen Uusimaa as the European Entrepreneurial Region 2012. The award attracted 36 regional nominees, out of which three regions received the title for the year 2011 and three for 2012. The EER award, which was presented for the first time, serves as recognition to those areas with the most plausible action plan for promoting entrepreneurship with realistic foresight and outstanding political vision. >> Read more
