Three Finnish Red Herring Global 100 winners

Beneq, Footbalance System and Microtask, three innovative Finnish companies, are among Red Herring Global 100 winners 2011. The overall winner this year is CloudPassage, the leading cloud server security company. Red Herring chooses every year the most interesting and innovative technology companies across the world.
All the three Finnish winners companies have recently received international growth capital
- Helsinki based nanosurface growth company Beneq Oy got a 9 M€ capital investment in the beginning of this year from Danish Via Ventures and Finnish Industry Investment Ltd and has won several international awards.
- In 2010, the Swedish private equity firm Scope invested 7 million euros in Footbalance, a Helsinki-headquartered company that develops custom molded insoles and computer-aided analysis tools.
- Microtask, a distributed work expert founded in 2009, closed a round of seed financing in August 2010, lead by Danish Sunstone Capital followed by a group of Angel investors.
The Red Herring Global Top 100 prize is an award in recognition of the leading private companies from North America, Europe, and Asia. The prize celebrates the innovations and technologies of these start-ups across their respective industries.
