Santen Invests in Plant in Finland

Japan-based drug firm Santen Pharmaceutical Co Ltd has announced it is to invest $14 million in the world’s fastest eye medicine production line in its Tampere plant in Finland. According to plans, the line will be fully operational in the later part of 2012.
Santen’s new Taflotan drug for the treatment of glaucoma has already been a success. The new line will increase the drug’s production volume considerably.
Santen’s drugs are exported from Tampere to 40 countries. Santen aims to achieve significant growth in Europe.
