Russia’s Marussia Motors company plans to open a production facility in Finland

Marussia Motors has teamed up with Finnish Valmet to launch full assembly of its sport cars in Finland next spring. This is a quite unprecedented for the Russian car industry, as most often foreign companies enter the Russian market but this time a Russian car manufacturer opens ac facility abroad.
The strongest driver for choosing Finland was its geographical location. ”Valmet has a huge experience in car assembly, in particular they assembled 1.5 million Porsche cars. They worked with many outstanding brands and they know how to do it. We chose them because there are the closest to us geographically”, Nikolai Fomenko from Marussia Motors explained in an article published in the “Voice of Russia”
