Finland’s GDP growing faster than the EU average

Finland’s GDP increased by 4.8% during the first quarter and by 2.9% in the second quarter compared to the same periods one year ago. Output growth is expected to slow down during the second half of the year due to the rapidly weakening outlook in the international economy. Nevertheless, Finland’s GDP will clearly grow faster than the EU average both this year and next year. Total output still grew by 3.7% in July compared to the previous year. The outlook for exports to Asia and Russia is still favorable.
